Authorities in Trenton have launched an investigation into a shooting that left a woman injured early Saturday morning.
While details surrounding the incident remain under investigation, preliminary reports indicate that gunfire erupted around 2:15 a.m. in the 400 block of Chambers Street.
Police responded to multiple reports of shots fired and, upon arrival, discovered a female victim suffering from a gunshot wound to her leg.
The woman was conscious and alert when first responders arrived at the scene. She was transported to a nearby trauma center for treatment.
As officers secured the area, their investigation extended to the 800 block of Greenwood Avenue, where witnesses reported seeing a Hispanic male—who is known to frequent the area—fleeing the scene.
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether he is connected to the shooting.
No arrests have been reported at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.
