Woman Hospitalized After Being Struck by Vehicle in Newark’s East Ward

Police in Newark are investigating a pedestrian strike that left a woman injured in the city’s East Ward Thursday around 5 p.m.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the area of Brill and Ferry Streets following reports of a person down after being hit by a vehicle at the intersection around 5. 

Upon arrival, firefighters located the unidentified female victim and immediately provided medical aid.

She was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Her condition has not been publicly released.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation, and no additional details were immediately available. 

Authorities have not confirmed whether any charges are expected.
