A woman tried to go through the normal process of childbirth, but nature took its course early Monday morning in Newark.
Reports say emergency responders were called to the area of West Market and first streets to assist in a woman in labor just before 1 a.m.
Upon arrival, police and EMS found the unidentified woman who gave birth to a baby boy at that location, according to reports.
The mother and child were transported the short distance to University Hospital in good condition.
