Police are investigating a shooting that injured a woman in Newark's South Ward on Monday morning.
At approximately 2:15 a.m., police responded to reports of shots fired near 426 Jeliff Avenue.
Officers arrived and found a woman suffering a bullet wound in her neck inside a vehicle.
The unidentified victim was rushed to University Hospital for treatment while police alerted other hospitals in the region to be on the lookout for potential walk-in gunshot victims.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation, and the suspect is at large.
