The body of a woman found inside a vacant house in Newark's South Ward has police investigating.
Reports of suspicious activities inside a house in the 200 block of Goldsmith Avenue had police on the scene at around 1:54 p.m. Tuesday where officers found an unconscious and unresponsive woman at that location.
The woman, who residents say is around 34-years-old, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Residents on Goldsmith Avenue said the owner walked away from the home about a month ago.
Authorities say it does not appear that the woman was the victim of foul play but the State Regional Medical Examiners Office will decide the official cause of death.
