A woman was transported to a Newark hospital in serious condition after being struck by a vehicle while apparently walking her dog early Saturday morning in Union Township.
The incident occurred shortly before 1 a.m. near 2062 Springfield Avenue.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the woman severely injured after being hit by a vehicle.
She was rushed to University Hospital for treatment. Her dog, also injured in the incident, was transported to an emergency veterinary clinic on Route 22 for care.
Union Police have not released any additional information, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
