Newark – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and East Orange Public Safety Director Sheilah Coley announced today that Jocelyn Dahta, 32, of Orange has been arrested and charged with the murder of 90-year-old Henry Boyd.
According to authorities, Boyd was murdered in East Orange on Feb. 9 in his South Harrison Street apartment. Dahta was arrested and charged last night.
The preliminary investigation indicates the Dahta was known to the victim.
Dahta is currently being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility on $750,000 bail set by the Honorable Ronald Wigler, the Presiding Criminal Division Judge authorities said.
The investigation, which is active an ongoing, is being conducted by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force and the East Orange Police with assistance from the New Jersey State Police.
