Police officials in Newark's North Ward are continuing the search for a suspect who took a vehicle from a woman late Tuesday night.
According to police, at approximately 11:10 p.m., police responded to reports of a carjacking in progress at the BP Gas Station on Bloomfield Avenue.
Officers arrived at the scene and found a visibly distraught woman who told police that a male suspect approached armed with a gun and took her white Hyundai then sped away from the scene.
Police say the car is a white Hyundai Tuscon with reported NJ license plate numbers "U40-JXR".
The victim did not suffer physical injuries according to reports.
