There were non-life threatening injuries reported for a woman who was attacked near a park in Newark's North Ward on Monday.
According to police, the incident happened at approximately 4:17 p.m. on the Park Avenue Bridge near Branch Brook Park.
Police say the suspect approached a woman and began to assault her during a robbery physically.
EMS treated the victim while Newark and Essex County sheriff's officers searched the area for the suspect.
The Essex County Sheriff's office will handle the investigation.
