A 30-year-old woman accused of stalking Mayor Steve Fulop will remain behind bars until her detention hearing.
According to authorities, police responded to Fulop's Ogden Avenue home Sunday at approximately 7 p.m. after Stephanie Espana, of Jersey City, was found inside.
Officials said Espana made her first court appearance Monday afternoon via video link from the Hudson County jail in Kearny.
The assistant prosecutor ordered Espana be detained until her detention hearing which is scheduled for Thursday so she could be evaluated by a mental health professional.
Police charged Espana with burglary, harassment and stalking.
