Police are investigating a weekend fire that killed a 91-year-old woman.
According to authorities, Northfield firefighters responded to 2200 Bay Drive for a report of a fire at the one story residence.
Upon arrival, crews found 91-year-old female dead inside the home Saturday afternoon.
An autopsy was performed on Julia Eisenhart today by the Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office. The cause of death is pending further investigation.
The Northfield Fire Department was assisted by the Somers Point, Pleasantville, Linwood, Cardiff and Bargaintown (EHT) Fire Departments, as well as the Northfield Police Department, Egg Harbor Township Communications, Tricare EMS, Atlanticare EMS and the Northfield Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
The fire is under investigation by the Northfield Fire Department and the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, but is not considered suspicious at this time.
