Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up in recovery mode this Friday after heavy overnight rainfall led to localized flooding and travel disruptions across parts of the area.

Good morning, temperatures are starting off at a milder 47 degrees in downtown Newark — slightly warmer than Thursday morning.
However, strong winds will bring a noticeable chill throughout the day, making it feel about five degrees colder than the actual temperature.
According to the National Weather Service, residents can expect improving conditions as the day progresses.
Skies will turn mostly sunny with a high near 54 degrees, but breezy conditions will persist, with northwest winds around 25 mph and gusts reaching up to 41 mph.
Friday night will be mostly clear and colder, with lows dipping to around 36 degrees.

As the region shakes off the effects of last night’s stormy weather, forecasters say calmer and sunnier conditions are on the way.
Stay safe and enjoy your Friday, New Jersey.
