Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to brutally cold conditions this Wednesday morning.
At 4:30 a.m., temperatures in Newark hovered at 23 degrees, but a biting windchill made it feel like a frosty 12 degrees.
Good morning, New Jersey—if you're heading out early to walk the dog, hit the gym, or commute to work, bundling up in layers is essential to fend off the cold.
With winter in full swing, the windchill is the big story of the day. Sussex County is feeling the chill at 6 degrees, Morristown is at 8, and Haledon registers at 9 degrees.
Dressing appropriately for these conditions is crucial as the icy air cuts through.
According to the National Weather Servictoday'sy’s forecast predicts sunny skies with a high near 33 degrees.
Wind chill values will remain between 10 and 20 degrees, accompanied by a brisk northwest wind of 15 to 20 mph. Tonight, the skies will be mostly clear, and temperatures will dip to around 21 degrees.
