Police in Westfield are investigating a reported burglary reported in the town overnight.
According to preliminary reports, just past midnight, Westfield Police were by other police agencies after authorities received reports of -some type of -a burglary in progress in the area of Michael Drive.
Police locked down an area while officers tracked at least one burglary suspect in back yards.
Officers located and detained a suspect then searched the area where they found a vehicle that appeared to be burglarized in the area.
A crime scene unit was called to the area to assist in the investigation, but Westfield Police have not immediately confirmed that the suspect attempted residential burglaries at this time.
The incident remains under investigation.
