Westampton Man Arrested for Attempted Murder of Willingboro Resident

Police in Willingboro announce that they have arrested the suspect in a fatal shooting that occurred on Wednesday afternoon.

According to police officials, on March 30, at approximately 3:14 p.m., Willingboro Police Officers were dispatched to Pheasant Lane and Princeton Lane for a report of a shooting that had just occurred. 

Police said that officers arrived on the scene quickly and were given a description of the alleged shooter. 

According to police, Darelle Riddick, 42, of Westampton, was located walking in the area and was seen holding a firearm in his right hand. 

Police officials said that Riddick was given multiple verbal commands to drop the weapon, which he did, and was taken into custody without incident.

According to officials, a 34-year-old resident of Willingboro was located on Pheasant Lane with a gunshot wound and was transported to Cooper Hospital in Camden and is listed in stable condition.

Officials said that Darrelle Riddick was subsequently charged with Attempted Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose, Certain Persons Not to Possess a weapon, and Aggravated Assault. He was later lodged in the Burlington County Jail.
