A 34-year-old Plainfield man was struck and critically injured by a West Orange resident's car after attempting to cross the street in Cranford.
At approximately 8 p.m., Cranford Police received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting a male subject lying in the roadway on Springfield Avenue near Pawnee Road.
Responding police units discovered that a 34-year-old William Manotoa-Quiquintu, of Plainfield, had been struck by a 2010 Saturn, operated by a 60-year-old West Orange resident, while crossing or walking in the roadway.
The Manotoa-Quiquintu was transported to JFK Medical Center where he was pronounced dead shortly after 9 p.m.
As of Dec. 15, the investigation has concluded and no criminal or motor vehicle charges have been filed.
