Newark

By: Richard L. Smith

Newark and North Jersey residents are in for a weekend of contrasting weather, according to The National Weather Service.

Forecasters say today marks a pleasant beginning, featuring sunny skies and a high near 52 degrees.

The light and variable wind shifting from the north at about six mph adds a gentle touch to the day. However, this agreeable weather won't last long.AfAs the night approaches, expect increasing clouds and a slight chance of drizzle or light rain after midnight, with the temperature dipping to around 43 degrees.

However, the National Weather Service meteorologist said the real change is set for Sunday. Mirroring last weekend's conditions, the area will face heavy rain, strong winds, and overall miserable and messy weather for the Monday morning commute.

Today's humidity stands at 56%, with a west wind traveling at six mph and a barometric pressure of 30.42 inches.

While Saturday offers a brief respite with its mild conditions, it's advisable to prepare for a drastic shift as the weekend progresses.
