There were injuries reported in a crash that involved an ambulance and a truck on I-78 in Summit Monday morning.
According to NJ State Police officials, the crash happened at around 3:20 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-78 near the exit 45 ramp in Summit.
A preliminary investigation indicated that a truck traveling on the highway lost control due to icy conditions and struck an ambulance on the off-ramp.
Police closed the ramp to tow the ambulance away as NJ Department of Transportation road crews salted that portion of the road.
The injured were taken to an area hospital suffering non-life threatening injuries.
