Authorities are investigating a fatal car crash that claimed the life of a North Haledon man earlier this week.
According to Wayne Police Chief Joseph Rooney, the accident occurred on Tuesday, September 3, at approximately 7:26 a.m. on Parish Drive near the intersection of Jacobus Avenue.
The driver, identified as 29-year-old Gregory B. Fales, was traveling westbound in a Subaru Impreza when his vehicle veered off the road, struck a split rail fence, and overturned onto the property of the Passaic County Golf Course.
First responders found Fales unconscious and unresponsive inside the vehicle.
Despite efforts from the Wayne Memorial First Aid Squad, the Wayne Township Fire Department, and St. Joseph's Hospital paramedics, Fales was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Wayne Police Traffic Bureau is investigating the cause of the crash.
