Wayne Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting Girl

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes announces the arrest of Pedro Quezada, 49, of Wayne, (Powerball winner) for sexually assaulting a minor female child. At this time, it appears there are no other victims.

Quezada was arrested and charged with two counts of First Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault, two counts of Second Degree Sexual Assault and one count of Second Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child for sexually assaulting the child during the time period when the child was between the ages of 11-years old and 14-years old and while he resided in Passaic.

First Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault carries a maximum term of twenty years in New Jersey State Prison with 85% of the sentence to be served before parole; Second Degree Sexual Assault carries a maximum term of ten years in New Jersey State Prison with 85% of the sentence to be served before parole and Second Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child carries a maximum term of ten years in the New Jersey State Prison. In addition, each crime carries the additional penalties of Megan’s Law and Parole Supervision for Life.

Quezada won $338 million in 2013, but opted to lump-sum payout that dropped to $152 million after taxes.

A criminal complaint is merely an accusation. Despite this accusation, the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
