Police are investigating a crash that left a Cherry Hill pedestrian with injuries after being hit by a car.
Yesterday at approximately 8:39 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area Black Horse Pike and Madison Avenue for a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.
The preliminary investigation reveals a 2002 Chevy Tracker was traveling northbound on the Black Horse Pike (SH42) in the inside lane of travel. As the vehicle traveled past Madison Avenue, Ronnie DeMetro of Cherry Hill walked into the vehicle’s driver side front quarter panel and door. He was crossing the highway from west to east not in a designated crosswalk.
The driver of the vehicle did not sustain any injuries. DeMetro sustained moderate injuries to his legs and head. He was transported to Cooper Trauma Center where he is in stable but critical condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
The Black Horse Pike remained closed for approximately two hours following the crash.
