Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara reports that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Kenol Monreau, 51, of Newark, in connection with a dog theft that occurred on June 15.
According to Director O'Hara, a woman and her dog, while in the area of South Orange Avenue and South 6th Street, were approached by the suspect, who was driving a gray truck.
The suspect inquired about the victim’s dog, a Yorkie, and asked to hold the dog before driving away with the victim’s pet.
Detectives investigating this incident have identified Monreau as a suspect in this incident and obtained a warrant for his arrest on a charge of theft.
While police are actively searching for Monreau, they seek the public’s help in locating him as part of this investigation.
