Warmest Day of the Week Ahead for Newark, North Jersey Region

Residents in Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to what could be the warmest day of the week. Early morning temperatures start at 57 degrees.GenceptzAlthough isolated areas of fog may cause slight delays during the morning commute, these conditions are not widespread and shouldn't last long. 

The National Weather Service forecasts a day mixed with clouds and sunshine.

While it will be partly sunny for most of the day, there is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms developing after 2 p.m., with temperatures peaking near 76 degrees.

As the evening approaches, residents should keep an umbrella handy.

NWS meteorologists predict an increased chance of showers and thunderstorms, and more consistent showers are likely after 8 p.m.

The skies will remain cloudy as temperatures drop to a low of around 59 degrees. A south wind blowing at 5 to 9 mph will accompany a 60 percent chance of precipitation tonight.
