WANTED PERSON: Suspect Wanted for Pepper Spray Attack on Victim in Newark

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé reported the issuance of an arrest warrant for 31-year-old Ms. Quyjae Springer of Newark in connection with an aggravated assault that took place on January 31, 2024.

Nino The incident occurred in the afternoon around 1:45 p.m. Police were called to University Hospital following the arrival of a female victim seeking treatment for injuries sustained during a conflict.

The violent altercation, which began as a verbal dispute, escalated dramatically on the 100 block of West Market Street.

According to reports, Springer, after the initial confrontation, drove her vehicle towards the victim, got out, and pepper-sprayed her in the face.

The victim, fortunately, is now in stable condition after receiving treatment at the hospital.

Following thorough investigative efforts, detectives have identified Springer as the prime suspect in this assault.

NINO She is described as being 5'2" tall and weighing around 200 pounds. Springer is known to frequent the area of Garden Spires, located on the 100 block of 1st Street.

Director Fragé is calling upon the community for assistance in locating Springer.

Police assure that all tips received through the Crime Stopper service will remain confidential and could potentially lead to a reward.
