A violent strong armed carjacking that happened in the city's South Ward has police searching for several suspects responsible.
Police responded to reports of a carjacking in progress that happened in the 50's block of Madison Avenue shortly before 8:30 p.m.
Arriving units found the victim suffering physical injuries after reportedly being attacked by several suspects that conducted the strong armed carjacking.
According to the victim, three black male suspects exited a vehicle nearby his residence and begin to physically attack then take keys to a black BMW with a reported NJ license plate number "Y10-EWP".
The men then fled the scene on Madison Avenue.
The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries according to reports.
