A violent crash that occurred on an NJ roadway in Paterson has Passaic County authorities investigating the cause.
According to preliminary reports, the crash happened just before 3:55 a.m. on NJ-20 at 18th Avenue where emergency responders rushed to the scene after they received reports of a car crash with injuries.
Upon arrival, crews immediately went to work after finding an overturned car with one person ejected onto the roadway according to reports.
The unconscious and the unresponsive person was attended to by medics, but life-saving techniques by emergency crews proved unsuccessful.
According to a preliminary investigation, the driver of the car struck the divider in the southbound lanes of NJ-20 causing the vehicle to flip over, ejecting the victim from the car.
Police temporarily closed the highway in both directions for the extensive crash investigation.
