Violent Carjacking, Shooting in Newark has Police Searching for Suspects

Police are on the search for several violent carjacking suspects that viciously assaulted the owner of a vehicle in the city's West Ward.

According to police shortly before 8 a.m. in the area of Ellery Ave. and Ivy Street, police were called to the area for an armed carjacking with possible injuries.

Upon arrival to the scene, cops immediately located a victim suffering serious injuries after being carjacked at that location. EMS transported the victim to University Hospital suffering non-life threatening injuries.

A short time later in the 40's block of Millington, police responded to resorts of shots fired with a male victim down. They arrived to find the victim shot in the leg.

The suspects are also responsible for the shooting.

A silver 4-door Jaguar with a possible NJ license plate number W37-FLK is reportedly occupied by 3-4 armed black males at this time.
