An armed carjacking that turned into a violent beating of 67-year-old man has police in Newark investigating.
According to reports, the incident happened in the 100 block of Peshine Avenue shortly before midnight when two male suspects approached the victim and demanded his vehicle while he was reportedly sitting in it.
According to reports one of the suspects distracted the victim by talking to him while the other suspect ambushed the man, dragging him from the vehicle.
Police are looking for the victim's blue Cadillac, with a New Jersey license plate of B95-EMR that was taken by the suspects.
The victim was transported to University Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries, and released earlier today.
The incident is being investigated by the Newark Police department.
