Vineland Officer Placed on Paid Administrative Leave Following Fatal Police Involved Shooting

Authorities announced today that a Vineland officer who fired his weapon at a Bridgeton man Saturday morning, has been placed on paid administrative leave.

Officials say police responded to a home on East Wood Street for a report of a man acting suspiciously.

A video, captured by a bystander, shows Washington shirtless pacing back and forth for several minutes before he began moving towards police. Three shots are heard in the video sometime after Washington reportedly ran towards police.

Authorities have not released the identity of the officer or any details as a result of the ongoing investigation.
