Police in Newark are on the search for two dangerous suspects who conducted an early morning robbery where they administered a punishing pistol-whipping blow to the head of a woman in the city's Ironbound section Sunday morning.
According to police, the violent attack happened at approximately 6:45 a.m. in the 100 block of Ferry Street where two suspects exited a vehicle then 'bum-rushed' a woman who simply walked down the street.

Police say both males were armed with guns when one of the suspects snatched the woman's pocketbook while the other struck the unidentified woman in the head with a gun.
After the robbery, the suspects entered a dark-colored vehicle then sped away. The emotionally distraught woman suffered non-life threatening physical injuries. Police say the suspects remain at-large.
The latest incident marked a serious of attacks on women that has occurred around the city with police continuing to search for a man who attacked a pregnant woman on Market Street in Newark's East Ward last week.
