Newark authorities reported property damage in a shots-fired incident in the city's West Ward Thursday.
The early morning shooting happened around 12:54 a.m. near 77 North Munn Avenue.
A ShotSpotter device activated and alerted police of gunfire in the West Ward neighborhood.
Units arrived at the scene and found multiple shell casings, but after police canvassed the community, they found numerous shell casings and a car damaged by flying bullets.
Police say no one was inside the vehicle, and no victims were reported.
The suspect fled the scene and is at large.
