A car illegally taken from a street in the Town of Harrison was spotted by authorities in Newark during the overnight hours.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the 200 block of Harrison Avenue to investigate reports of a car taken from that location before 8:25 p.m.
Units arrived at the scene and were told that the suspect took a 2017 Lexus RX wagon with a reported NJ license plate number, "Z69-HLJ". The vehicle was left with the key fob inside according to reports.
The car was spotted by police in the area of Bergen Street and 12th Avenue shortly after it was stolen according to authorities.
The incident remains under investigation.
