A pedestrian struck by a vehicle this evening in South Orange has authorities investigating a fatality.
The incident occurred in the teen block of Montrose Avenue before 6 p.m. where emergency responders rushed to the scene after receiving several 911 calls for a pedestrian down at that location.
EMS arrived and found the victim suffering life-threatening injuries according to authorities. The victim was pronounced dead a short time later.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office only identified the victim as a 65-year-old man and stated that the incident is under investigation.
The driver stayed at the scene.
