NJ State Police are investigating the cause of a vehicle fire on Tuesday night along the westbound lanes of I-78 in Union County.
The incident took place around 9:40 p.m. near the Vauxhall Road exit in Union.
Firefighters rushed to the scene in response to reports of a vehicle engulfed in flames.
Upon their arrival, they encountered a vehicle fully involved in the fire. Firefighting crews promptly worked to extinguish the blaze.
After successfully putting out the fire, firefighters thoroughly searched the vehicle but found no occupants trapped inside.
At this time, the precise cause of the vehicle fire remains undetermined.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to the fire, but no suspicious activities have been reported.
