A carjacked vehicle taken at gunpoint in Paterson was last observed tracked at a location in Newark Friday morning.
A preliminary investigation indicated that police were notified of a carjacking in progress during the early morning hours in the area of Van Houten Avenue and Summer Street.
Police say the suspect took the victim's 2007 Chevy Impala with reported NJ licenses plate numbers "U18-NVZ."
According to officials, police tracked the vehicle at its known address of Avon Avenue and South 16th Street.
There were no injuries reported in the carjacking.
UPDATE 5:20 a.m. The car was located in the 800 block of South 12th Street.
