Police spotted a van possibly owned by the city of East Orange that was breaking traffic laws in Newark on Wednesday morning.
According to preliminary reports, a law enforcement detective observed a van driving erratically in the vicinity of 4th and Roseville avenues shortly before 10:50 a.m.
When the detective attempted to pull the van over, the driver sped away from the officer on North 7th Street according to reports.
The van had reported NJ license plate numbers "MG62462".
It is not clear if police ever recovered the van.
