The community has released the identity of a woman found dead inside a bedroom of a home in Orange on Monday evening.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office has launched an active and ongoing investigation into what caused the woman's death, but officials would not immediately say if a suspect is being sought, the incident is random, or if domestic violence is involved.
According to a preliminary investigation, at around 5:30 p.m., a 911 call into police headquarters from a person inside a home in the 100 block of Chapman Street reported that a woman identified as Ms. Camille Simpson, 34, of Orange was found unconscious and unresponsive.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found Simpson where medical personnel pronounced her dead by shortly before 6 p.m. according to reports.
What exactly happened to Simpson inside that Chapman Street home is in the hands of the State Regional Medical Examiners Office for the official cause of death the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said.
