UPDATE: Woman Found Dead in Elizabeth Apartment

Authorities in Union County are investigating the death of a woman found in her Elizabeth apartment this week.

An earlier article mistakenly reported that the incident occurred before Christmas, when it actually took place afterward. This has since been corrected. AdAccording to preliminary reports, on Monday, December 30th police responded to a call about an unresponsive person at 61 Florida Street.

Emergency responders arrived at the second-floor residence and discovered an unidentified woman who was later pronounced dead at the scene.

While officials have not confirmed whether foul play was involved, sources in the neighborhood revealed that the woman’s fiancé was detained for questioning.

The fiancé, described by neighbors as a local DJ, had reportedly proposed to the woman just days before her tragic death.

The couple, known to have been together for several years, was well-regarded in the community. Sources close to the investigation said following the incident, the fiancé was taken to Trinitas Hospital to be treated for unknown injuries.

As the investigation remains active and ongoing, authorities have not released additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the woman's death or the fiancé’s involvement.AdResidents in the area expressed shock and sadness as the community awaits answers.
