A woman and a man were injured in a shooting Sunday evening in Newark, authorities said.
According to a statement released by the Newark Police Department, officers responded to a report of gunfire in the 300 block of South Orange Avenue around 6:50 p.m. yesterday (Sunday).
Upon arrival, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound.
She was transported to University Hospital, where she is reportedly stable.
Shortly after, police said a man arrived at University Hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound sustained at the same location.
He is also listed in stable condition.
Authorities have not released further details about what led to the shooting, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward as they work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
