A 72-year-old Winfield Park woman seriously injured after attempting to cross Linden Street has succumbed to her injuries.
According to authorities, officers on March 20th at approximately 8:50 p.m. responded to the 2800 block of N. Stiles Street for reports of a severe auto-pedestrian crash.
Upon arrival, police determined that Ms. Linda Vicari, 72, of Winfield Park had been struck by a 2000 Dodge Durango, operated by a 33-year-old Linden man, who remained at the scene and has been cooperating with the investigation.
Police say Vicari was pronounced deceased at Newark University Hospital on March 22nd.
The crash remains under joint investigation by the Linden Police Department Traffic Bureau and the Union County Homicide Task Force.
