Update: Video Released of Stabbing of Taxi Driver in Camden

The Camden County Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that happened early this morning and is asking the public for help to identify the suspect.

The incident occurred just after midnight after a male suspect took a taxi from Federal Street to the John Wesley Village apartments at State and Front streets. After arriving at the apartment complex, the suspect brandished a knife and demanded money from the taxi driver while still inside the vehicle.

The victim then struggled with the suspect and was stabbed several times. After the taxi crashed into a parked vehicle, the suspect got out and ran from the scene toward State Street.

The victim was transported to Cooper University Hospital for treatment.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male wearing a light-colored T-shirt and shorts and armed with a silver knife.
