UPDATE USCG: Two Missing Jet Skiers Found Safely After Search Operation

Two jet skiers were found safely after an extensive water search conducted Wednesday night, according to a statement released by the United States Coast Guard.AdThe Coast Guard received a report of the missing jet skiers at approximately 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Official said Coast Guard Sector New York watchstanders quickly dispatched a boat crew from Coast Guard Station New York to search, joined by teams from Jersey City Fire, NYPD, and FDNY.

RLS Media’s overnight crew learned that the search operation was concentrated around the Morris Canal Basin near Liberty State Park, with the jet skiers last seen heading toward Jamaica Bay, NY.

Preliminary reports indicated that the Coast Guard was alerted to the situation shortly before 11:30 p.m.AdThe pair was last spotted near the Verrazano Bridge.

To aid in the search, officials said a Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City MH-65 Dolphin air crew was deployed.

The two jet skiers were eventually located safely this morning in Jamaica Bay by the NYPD.
