The bomb threat against Union High School was a hoax, according to township officials.
After numerous schools received threats yesterday in Bergen and Passaic Counties, this morning Union High School received a bomb threat, which thankfully was an empty one.
Police responded to the high school sometime around 10 a.m. after a note was found in a hallway, that said a bomb was going to go off.
Authorities did a search of the school as a precaution but no bomb or weapon materials were found.
According to parents, the high school was placed on lockdown through the investigation.
City officials issued the flowing statement shortly before on today, "Earlier reports of a bomb threat at Union High School have been investigated and are unfounded, they have been deemed a hoax."
Further investigation led to the suspension of two students.
Detectives will be following up and will continue to investigate the alarming note.
