New Jersey State Police officials are looking into a crash that injured a man on a NJ highway on Saturday night.
According to a statement released by State Police Sergeant Jeff Flynn, the single-car crash happened at around 11:33 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-78 near mile marker 42 in Watchung.
Sergeant Flynn said a Toyota sedan operated by a Union Township man somehow left the roadway on the right side and struck several trees before coming to a stop in the grass.
The driver of the vehicle was transported to an area hospital suffering severe injuries Sergeant Flynn said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
