Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Peter Papa of the South Plainfield Police Department announced today that a two-year-old boy who was in critical condition after nearly drowning has succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased today.The tragic incident occurred on May 28, 2024, at approximately 7:36 P.M., when the South Plainfield Police Department received a 911 call reporting that a child had been found in a pool and was not breathing.
Upon arrival, authorities performed CPR on the child and transported him to JFK Hospital. He was later transferred to Jersey Shore Medical Center, where he remained in critical condition.
