UPDATE: Two Victims, Dog Killed in Edison Two-Alarm House Fire

Middlesex County Acting Prosecutor Christopher L.C. Kuberiet and Chief Thomas Bryan of the Edison Police Department announced today that authorities are investigating a fire where two people and a dog perished in the Township this afternoon.

Officials say the victims, whose identities have not been confirmed, were discovered shortly after the fire which occurred in a duplex home on Jill Court at approximately 2:21 pm.

One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, the other was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital but died shortly after.

The cause of death remains undetermined pending the completion of autopsies by the Middlesex County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

Emergency personnel responded to Jill Court to battle the 2-alarm fire, which caused extensive damage.

No firefighters or police officers were injured.

Among those agencies called to the scene to investigate were the Edison Fire Department, the Edison Police Department, the Middlesex County Office of the Fire Marshal, and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.
