A fast moving fire at a two-family home in Union early this morning had firefighters rescuing two trapped occupants, according to officials.
Firefighters responded to 318 Ohio Street just after 4 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a structure fire.
Upon arrival, crews found the two-family house engulfed in flames. Two occupants of the home were rescued, one of the victims was ultimately transported to Overlook Medical Center in Summit in stable condition while the second person refused medical treatment.
The fire was under control approximately three hours later.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Crews from Maplewood, Irvington, Kenilworth, Springfield and Hillside provided mutual aid.
