Authorities in Atlantic County announced that on Thursday, April 25, Robert Caro-Green, 33, and Lenardo Caro, 31, both from Atlantic City, were each sentenced to a six-year term in New Jersey State Prison, with a forty-two-month period of parole ineligibility, following plea agreements for unlawfully possessing handguns without permits.According to officials, they were sentenced before the Honorable Bernard E. DeLury, Jr., P.J.Cr. On September 24, 2021, members of the Atlantic City Special Investigations Unit and Atlantic City SWAT executed a no-knock search warrant at 1536 Mediterranean Avenue.
Upon arriving at the location, officials said, Atlantic City SWAT personnel immediately encountered Robert Caro-Green and Lenardo Caro outside of the residence, attempting to enter a parked vehicle.
Officials say upon searching the residence, law enforcement located one black Polymer 80 ghost gun (no serial number) loaded with ammunition under the living room sofa.
A 13-year-old juvenile was sleeping on top of the weapon on the couch, officials said.
Authorities say two other juveniles were sitting on top of the weapon and also on the couch.
While continuing the search in the upstairs part of the residence, law enforcement located in the middle bedroom’s center dresser one black Tec-9 machine gun, which was defaced, and one black Polymer 80 9mm ghost gun, according to officials. Additionally, officials stated that law enforcement located in the same bedroom two extended handgun magazines loaded with ammunition, two compact-sized magazines loaded with ammunition, and boxes of ammunition, all in the center dresser.
Officials said concluding the search of the residence, law enforcement located handgun molding kits, heat sealer bags, a heat sealer machine, CDS paraphernalia, and a safe containing a large amount of marijuana, all of which were located in the middle upstairs bedroom closet.
