Passaic County authorities announced that at approximately 12:21 a.m. on September 7, members of the Passaic Police Department were patrolling the area of Main Avenue in Passaic when a Passaic Police Officer heard gunshots coming from the area of Main Avenue and Chestnut Street in Passaic.
Passaic Police located a motor vehicle in the area of Tulip and Oak streets in Passaic that was coming from the area of Main Avenue and Chestnut Street.
Police said while performing a motor vehicle stop, the police observed a 20-year-old male Passaic resident who sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound, an 18-year-old male Passaic resident who suffered a graze wound, a 23-year-old male Passaic resident who did not suffer any injuries and an 18-year-old male Passaic resident who suffered minor lacerations from shattered glass.
The 20-year-old male Passaic resident was transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
