Newark authorities are actively searching for suspects involved in a violent shooting that left two men injured early Thursday morning in the city’s downtown area near a nightclub.
According to Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, the incident occurred around 2:05 a.m. on January 16, when Newark Police responded to reports of gunfire near The City Lounge on the 200 block of Washington Street.
Upon arrival, officers discovered two male victims who had sustained gunshot wounds to the torso. Both men were transported to University Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.
Medical officials have confirmed that both victims are in stable condition.
The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
